Commit to your business

How many times have you heard someone say, “I’ll try this out,” or “I tried that, and it didn’t work out.”? You’ve probably heard that a lot more times than you’ve heard “I did this and it worked!” I’ve come to believe that the reason for so many failures is the word “try.” When you “try,” you are giving yourself a back door of escape. It is almost as if the word “try” really means “practice.” Yoda said, “There is no try, there is only do.” He was referring to a positive mental attitude that would not admit defeat. If one thing didn’t work out, don’t give up, but step back, learn from your mistakes, and do it again. Relate this to your business. If you “try” a business, it is a lot more prone to failure than if you “do” a business. When you are “doing” a business, there is an element of commitment in your actions. And this commitment gets results. In the past, I “tried” many different business opportunities. It was almost like a hobby. But now, I have a lot of motivation to succeed in my business. My commitment level is higher than it was in the past. I have to plan, work that plan, and re-work the parts of the plan that didn’t work, until it does work. Committing the effort to make a business successful will go a long way towards the business actually becoming successful. If you unwaveringly commit to making a business successful, it seems that the universe co-operates and tries to assist you in making your business go! In short, treat your business as a serious, full-time business, put in the effort and commit to its success and it will become one.
